Finding the Joy in Public Speaking

June Jensen and John Barry of member organization, Suffolk Lawyers for Justice, joined us for a Lunch+Learn to tackle the knack of public speaking. Talking in front of others is usually met with misery and anxiety – this talk focused on methods to reduce that fear. June and John explained tips for speaking in public and ways to be more persuasive. We then split into small groups and pitched our different organizations to each other to practice the strategies they taught and start to build the confidence everyone needs to speak influentially in public. While speaking in front of people comes easier to some more than others, our speakers stressed it is a learned skill and anyone can master it with enough practice! Watch June and John as they share their knowledge in the interview below, and check out these notes on their presentation: Joy in Public Speaking
