Design and Innovation Workshop: Re-thinking Global Problems and Solutions

Topic: Design and Innovation Workshop: Re-thinking Global Problems and Solutions with Sara Minkara
This workshop will provide some of the tools necessary for approaching real world problems from a new angle. We will be using Design Thinking Innovation tools such as group work, analogous words and creative exercises to explore different approaches to problem-solving, while focusing on the example of poverty alleviation.
Sara Minkara is the president and founder of Empowerment Through Integration, an international nonprofit that integrates blind youth in developing countries into society. For her work with ETI, she won a Clinton Global Initiative Outstanding Commitment Award in 2009. From ETI, Sara brings with her experience in non-profit management, including budgeting and financial oversight, audits and State and federal filing, personnel management, and Board development. She has a Masters in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, where she was also a Dubin Fellow for Emerging Leaders at the Center for Public Leadership. Sara is a Wellesley graduate. Sara  is the Operations Manager for the Disability Rights Fund. In this role, she manages the Funds’ internal operations such as finances, human resources, and other operational logistics.  Her passion is disability empowerment and inclusion, and she loves numbers!
